Wedding dresses for petite brides

Proportion, not height, makes the difference

Petite brides do not need the simplest or tightest possible dress. What matters is where the waist, bodice and skirt begin and how patterns or details are scaled in relation to you. A well-proportioned dress can be light, opulent, modern or romantic.

Vertical lines and a harmonious waist position can create visual length. A voluminous skirt can work just as well when its starting point, amount of fabric and length are carefully balanced.

Consider alterations from the start

When shortening a wedding dress, the hem, lace and shape of the skirt must be preserved. Straps, bodice length and waist position may also play a role. We therefore discuss early on which alterations make sense for a favourite and can be carried out well.

Walk, turn and sit down during your fitting. A dress only feels harmonious when it not only fits on the podium but moves naturally with you throughout your wedding day.
